Glyn Opens Christchurch NZ Office with Martin de Lange as New BDM

With the strong growth of Glyn operations in New Zealand, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Martin de Lange as NZ Business Development Manager.  Martin will be looking after customers in the South Island and the lower North Island.

Martin has been an FAE in NZ for the past 9 years in an electronic components distribution company and has extensive experience in MCUs, LEDs, wireless modules, and analogue power supplies.

Leading USA-based microsensor manufacturer SignalQuest has recently signed up Glyn High-Tech Distribution as its distributor for Australia and New Zealand. 

SignalQuest designs and manufactures electronic sensors that measure tilt angle, acceleration, shock, vibration and movement as well as application specific intertial measurement devices.  All of SignalQuest's products are designed, manufactured and tested in their factories in New Hampshire, USA.

E-Paper Manufacturer Pervasive Displays Appoints Glyn as Distributor

Leading e-paper display panel manufacturer Pervasive Displays has partnered with Glyn High-Tech Distribution to be its distributor in Australia and New Zealand.

Electronic paper is often considered to be more comfortable to read than conventional displays. This is due to the stable image, which does not need to be refreshed constantly, the wider viewing angle, and the fact that it reflects ambient light rather than emitting its own light. An ideal e-paper display can be read in direct sunlight without the image appearing to fade. The contrast ratio in available displays might be described as similar to that of newspaper, though newly-developed implementations are slightly better.

GSM/GPRS/GPS Modem Card with Python Scripting Now Available from Glyn

The GR2 card is a complete GSM/GPRS/GPS solution, based on the Telit GE864-GPS module. The GR2 comes with Python scripting where customer application programs can be stored inside the modem, making the terminal a complete customer solution.

The RoHS-compliant GR2 also has a 24 pin connector to provide access to the board power supply, and GE864 serial UART, control lines and GPIO ports. SMA connectors are also provided for the GSM and GPS antennas.

Telit Publishes White Paper on GPS + GLONASS, Shows Tremendous Improvement in Positioning

Experts at Telit decided to test what impact the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has on satellite navigation and positioning. They conducted tests in Los Angeles and London to see the relevance of Glonass for the whole world. The results clearly showed that the combination of GPS and GLONASS, found in modules like Telit's SL869, improves positioning tremendously.
